If you’re like a number of folks, you heard the same things I did growing up: Eat three meals a day, fat is bad, and willpower can overcome food cravings.
Oh, and going on a diet is the only way to lose weight. I can tell you that none of that has to be true for you. I’m SunshineKelly, CEO of Sunshine Health, and I help people to be happy.
As I walked past a photo of myself in a bathing suit one day, I looked at the photo with the realization: "Self: You can do better." While I wasn't overweight, I wasn't toned either. Moreover, I wasn't exactly happy with myself as a person. From there, a journey began that has continued to this day.
Two days a week is what I committed to do for a workout. Using dvd's to guide me through a workout, I started to see results in less than six months. Then it became three days a week of exercise, just because it felt good. As I became more physically stronger, I became more mentally stronger.
You see, I wasn't always the most confident person. I had a lot of self doubt and a strong need to please everyone. By adding fitness to my life, I was experiencing new feelings of happiness and empowerment. "Yes, I most certainly can do one more push-up!"
Years later, health and fitness has become a life style, not just something I do sporadically. My food choices have cultivated to healthier options including plenty of organic, meat and dairy free options. During my pregnancy in 2016, I remained a meat free mama, and I gave birth to a very healthy and happy baby girl.
If I can help you with health, wellness, and nutrition the way that it has helped reshape my entire life, then it would be a privilege to do so. Moving each day in some fashion is now my way of life. Eating well is an active choice made multiple times a day. Helping my fitness peeps achieve their goals is my gift that I am blessed with having. We become friends with who we work with, right? I can share that my fitness peeps are now some of my closest friends, including, Sarah, who is my daughter’s Godmother and ‘My Beverly’ who my daughter knows as, “Auntie Bev."
Leaving my full time job to pursue a path of helping others with fitness and nutrition is my calling. If I can help you to feel the way that fitness and nutrition have helped me feel, then I have done well. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and I look forward to meeting you soon!
Have an awesome day!
